By accessing or using Knews, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform.

2. About the Platform

Knews is a free platform dedicated to S'gaw Karen (Pwo/S'gaw) voices, stories, and ideas. The service is provided at no cost to all users, including both readers and authors. No subscription, payment, or fee is required to access, read, or publish content on Knews.

3. Language Requirement

Knews exists to serve the Karen language community. All content published on the platform must be written with at least 85% of its text in the Karen language (Pwo/S'gaw). Limited use of other languages is permitted for names, quotes, references, or brief clarifications, but the primary language of every article must be Karen. Content that does not meet this requirement may be removed without notice.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

5. Content Ownership and Originality

You retain full ownership of the content you publish on Knews. By posting content, you grant Knews a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you publish and must ensure it does not violate any laws or the rights of others.

By publishing an article on Knews, you confirm and accept that the content is your own original work. Copying, reposting, or republishing content created by others — whether from other websites, social media, publications, or any other source — without proper authorization is strictly prohibited. If you include quotes or references from other works, they must be properly attributed. Authors found to be posting content that is not their own may have their articles removed and their accounts suspended or permanently terminated.

6. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Knews is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Pornography and sexual content: Any form of pornographic, sexually explicit, or sexually suggestive material is absolutely forbidden. This includes images, text, links, and any other media.
• Violence: Any content that threatens, encourages, glorifies, or calls for violence against any individual, group, or community is not permitted.
• Vulgar language and personal attacks: All users must keep their language civil and respectful. Swearing, profanity, name-calling, insults, slurs, and any form of vulgarity are not acceptable in articles, comments, or any other area of the platform.
• Harassment and bullying: Targeting, intimidating, or repeatedly attacking other users is strictly prohibited.
• Hate speech: Content that promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or any other characteristic is not tolerated.
• Spam and misinformation: Publishing misleading content, spam, or deliberately false information is prohibited.

Violations of these rules will result in content removal and may lead to immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account.

8. Enforcement and Termination

Knews reserves the right to remove any content and to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Repeated or severe violations will result in permanent bans.

Knews is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content published by users on the platform. The views expressed by authors are their own and do not represent the views of Knews.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
